Legislators Are Ready to Increase Property Taxes
Will you let them?
The California State Senate has introduced SCA 5, which will institute a Split Roll Property Tax, altering Proposition 13 and raising property taxes across the State. The legislature wants you to believe that commercial properties have not been paying our fair share and that therefore schools have suffered.
In fact, the state has never had such a surplus and commercial properties have been paying our fare share. Don't let our legislators dictate what the voters have decided on for the past 30 years. Although residents may feel that they won't be affected, we all will. Legislators and special interests have already voiced the desire to increase residential property taxes. The end goal: more money for special interest projects and for the state to waste away.
